Pinyin Letters Easy Typing
This website is a Pinyin keyboard design, as it’s not a standard keyboard that allows you to type the Pinyin letters integrated with those with intonation marks. This was manually designed and coded when AI was hugely immature and gave buggy responses, although I ended up consulting the immature AI many times to get help with the most complicated JavaScript logic that was out of scheme, which was my high school IT subject. Only after that did I realize I suit design rather than computer-related disciplines.

I was more familiar with Python and, using it, I coded an auto-replace of normal English letters into marked Pinyin letters, which I failed to incorporate into the website as planned. Below is a snippet of my portfolio introducing this work and its unimplemented improvement designs.

Lucky Spinner
It is the foundational vibe-coding work I produced during a vibe-coding workshop at university. I got to know more tools and new workflows to make website publishing easier. Since then, AI has proved itself to be more capable of generating useful code according to my needs. Nothing really special in its function, though it deserves a display space here.

Click Color Pixel Grid | aka. Clicking Grids
For making pixel art, square Kufic art, fast prototype/demonstrations of square arrangements, etc. I was interested in learning and making Square Kufic and started with kashida.org. It is a good starter platform for regulating and referencing the words, but it’s not flexible as a result and sometimes tedious to use. So I customized a new web page with AI to directly suit my different needs and allow for more sophisticated designs, exceeding the Square Kufic words themselves. This website encourages creativity from pixel/grid-based designs.

PDF Page Flexible Imposition | aka. PDF 智排印
This tool is a fast fix for this pain point: you can only select a kind of page number per page when printing at a time. When I was printing a big PDF originating from PPT pages (I think printed materials are always easier to navigate, compare, and read than digital pages), I needed some of the pages to be in large, one-page landscape formats to better see details; some pages with less and bigger-font info can be condensed into a two-in-one page to save resources. This tool lets you select the pages you want full-scale in A4 pages without limits; it auto-imposes the pages for you and generates a print-ready PDF. It is a fast solution I asked AI to make during my busy work; it’s really a massive time-saver compared to my desperate alternatives.

They are fast prototypes in a “Jugaad” style, so bugs are common as long as I can use the main function. I want to state that I’m not a developer working in the field of IT, but I tried to harness the abilities of today’s technology to help me solve the big problems I encountered in my life. I may make the source code public on GitHub under Creative Commons as long as you like the idea and want to contribute to make the tools function better.
